A child's safety is our first priority. These rules apply to everyone who works at AVA.
1. Confidentiality and its limits
What a child tells the psychologist stays between them; parents receive general conclusions and recommendations. Confidentiality can be broken only if the life or health of the child or others is at risk, or when the law requires it. Where possible, we tell the child beforehand who will be told and what.
2. Rules for staff
- All staff are vetted before hiring and trained in child protection.
- One-to-one sessions take place in a room with a window in the door or with the door open.
- Private messaging between staff and children is not allowed — contact goes through parents or the centre's official channels.
- Photos and videos of children are taken and published only with separate written consent from parents.
3. If you are worried
The centre's child protection lead: [name, contact]. Every concern about a child's safety is recorded and looked into the same day. If abuse is suspected, we act in the child's interest and in line with the law of the Republic of Tajikistan.
4. Medical limits
We do not make medical diagnoses or prescribe treatment. If a child needs a doctor, we will tell you which specialist to see.
